(B4) The Guardian: YCN Workshop

My notes:

Thoughts/reflections:
  • Was really great to hear the creatives who work with the Guardian talk about the brief, it helped to give me a sense of direction in terms of where to go next.
  • I think the most important thing here is the idea and how appropriate it is for the audience, the example of the 'break the glass' campaign was a strong idea and executed well.
    - I really want to focus in on this to help keep the brief concise, I'm giving myself a week and a half of further work to get to a final outcome so having a clear idea and direction in key.
  • They mentioned about having the ads not feel like ads, they felt more like a piece of performance art and this grabbed attention.
    - This interested me as I feel there is room to be more adventurous with the project than just digital work, this could be an interesting direction to go in.
  • Potentially narrowing down the market more (like they did with their campaign) to identify key aspects of who the audience is and then target these.
  • I need to pick up this project with fresh eyes in terms of where it could lead and then lean into this.
