- Would I collect the results of these challenges and put them somewhere?
- This idea of making something with the stuff is an interesting one, how would this work? An instagram account? Within a publication? - Creating a sense of community with this work, connecting with materials and creativity.
- I really like this theme, want it to run throughout the project. - The way I'm talking about the project goes with this idea of lightness, play and fun.
- I think the project could be to create a space to do this, but one that works. - Need to think of the target audience, and be aware of not being patronising with the products.
- This is a really good point, will the work be for children or adults? creatives or non creatives? - Nick suggested it being something people can order, pay £5-10 for it and then it will go directly to people who want it.
- I think this would be better than posting it through random doors, this would reduce waste and help those who want to engage with the work engage. - Nick suggested looking at: https://spectorbooks.com/taking-a-line-for-a-walk (it's available at the library, book it out).
Thoughts/Reflections:
- I really like the sound of this project, it's a good idea and needs refining down to something concise with a clear direction and then I'd be able to move forward with it.
- Audience in key here, decide this
- Content
- Outcome (book, pack?) - I want to make this project happen so think what is achievable for me as a student with the budget I have.
- Could make into 603 project but need to think about time. Work on it for 602 also (as well as personal branding) so it can start to be realised.
- Talking about personal/self initiated projects was really exciting, it was great to hear what other people are doing for their work and where their passions lie within design, as they're all so varied. It's great to get you thinking openly about design without restrictions from external sources.
