2. Experimenting in Paper and Print Residency Grant (Estonia):

TYPA’s artist in residence program realized through the collaboration of the Tartu City Council and the local creative community. By providing accommodation, working premises and exhibition spaces for artists, the programme aims at supporting intercultural contacts, openness, creativity. Through international exchange, the program promotes Tartu as the City of Good Thoughts, as well as celebrating its award as UNESCO’s Creative Cities of Literature and furthering its cultural collaborations, ready for 2024’s  European Capital of Culture.

We have redeveloped our residency program to integrate it fully into the facilities and operation of the print museum and paper art studio. We are looking for artists to bring fresh perspectives and ways of working with print and paper. We are looking for printmakers, but also those new to print –new media, sculpture, audio-artists, painters and other artistic practices encouraged to apply.

MCBA’s Artist-in-Residence (AIR) program is designed to support selected artists by providing financial and community resources, space, and access to equipment to assist in the creation and promotion of their work. Residencies may be from two weeks to three months in duration. Participation in the program is based on the artistic merit of proposed projects as well as the degree to which artists further MCBA’s artistic mission: to lead the advancement of the book as an evolving art form.

5. Endless Editions Copy Shop Residency (New York):

http://www.endlesseditions.com/copyshop/

Endless Editions Copy Shop Residency is a collaborative publishing opportunity for artists working in any medium at any career level. It is hosted in remembrance of, and as a way to pay homage to, the age old local Copy Shop and the community built around these environments.

Unlike traditional residencies, the Copy Shop Residency is structured around the depth and scope of the proposed project — residencies can be as short as one day or as long as six months. Each resident's work will be published by Endless Editions and all costs, labor, and editions will be split 50/50.

The Copy Shop Residency is offered year round on a first-come, first-scheduled basis. Residents are not required to be based in NYC, however, all labor is performed in Midtown Manhattan.

This is definitely the most achievable residency I've found so far in terms of application, but the costs seem to be much lower as I don't think there is a grant for this residency.

6. Center for Book Arts Residency (New York):

https://centerforbookarts.org/opportunities/book-artists-in-residence

Each year Center for Book Arts awards 3 to 4 residencies to artists who have demonstrated a commitment to the book arts as a key component of their artistic practice.

The Book Artist Residency has a goal to fortify the practice of early career artists in the book arts, to provide access to professional equipment, financial support, specialized training, career advancing opportunities, space to work, and to strengthen and diversify the community of book artists working within the New York area.

This year long residency includes a cash stipend, materials budget, tuition waiver for all courses offered at CBA during the residency period, and 24-hour access to CBA printing and binding studios in Manhattan.

Book Artists-in-Residence are expected to actively utilize the studios and to complete an artist project by the end of the residency period to be included in a group exhibition.

Is more looking for helping those in New York, not those travelling in.
