Outcome:
- I believe the final outcome in successful, feel as though it's something I, and others, would want to engage with.
- The project has kept concrete poetry within the foundations of the design, but elaborated on the experience of viewing poetry that suits the modern (and currently pandemic) world.
- The outcome creates a visual performance of poetry using text and icons, I think the format of a website allows for the interactive alterations to take place and therefore creating a new way to perform (as a piece) and experience (as a viewer). - I like the individual poems and how they work on screen, I feel the tone of each poem is communicated well visually. The alterations to demonstrate pace
- I felt I was able to push my skills in this area as I haven't designed a website before, bringing in knowledge from other areas (publication, design principles, User Interface research) to improve this project.
Project:
- Found the project really interesting to work on, was able to explore type with a loose sense of direction.
- It was very freeing, I worry about things not looking good at the start of a project.
- Crit with Ryan last week really helped and encouraged me to explore more within designing type. - Was able to bring in some research from 601 for the home page, navigation and understanding of how to make a home page function.
- It was great to incorporate prior knowledge as see it becoming relevant in new areas of design. Hoping to continue this throughout 603. - Taught myself a new piece of software (Adobe XD) which helped massively in developing the outcome, it looks professional and it's great to have a functioning mock-up of what the website would be like instead of wireframes and mock animations to demonstrate a theme.
- Skills like these will help when designing for clients, able to present a professional mock-ups and communicate ideas more clearly. - Time management is something I tend to struggle with, spending too much time on some elements, not enough on others.
- I feel in this project my time management was much better, working to a schedule I set for myself worked well and I was able to work through the project easily.
