- There are 7 folds in this. - Grid is based on 8 fold division of the page into 3 squares of equal size. - Lines are aligned with the photographs. - Sime size type for text and captions. - Only title set in bold at 4pt larger. - Important when designing with folds that there is sufficient space between images so they don't get caught in the fold. - 2 or more squares can be combined to make larger units and create a more generous design. - Text sections separated by the line. - Clear image and text arrangement making the most of the forms chosen for the pictures. - The design is striking with the large images, the text become secondary to this.
- Seeing the spread as a whole makes the layout look a little less organised but the grid really stands out and provides structure.
- The use of white space helps guide the eye to the text, if it was more crowded the layout would become overwhelming.

- Designed with 21 part grid. - Uppermost grid field is made larger than others so titles can be places here creating more space for long titles. - Text and captions set in 4 type sizes to develop a hierarchy.
- The use of white space for the tiles here is really effective, and the lines to separate title from page number then title from body text is effective in guiding the audience's attention to specific sections.
- The image stands out on the page as it is the largest form, but also because it breaks the grid system slightly by going over the margins. Personally I like this design choice as when bound I can imagine it being even more effective. It does create a little visual disruption however I think it works well on the whole.

- 9 field grid layout. - When finer layout is needed grid is divided into 18 or 36 field if necessary. - Vertical subdivision is also possible. - All Deutsche Bank documents use this format, creates continuity.
- Here the grid uses large gutters between columns and rows, this leads to a very obvious grid system in the final design.
- The 3x3 grid allows for a more quirky organisation of images and text, this grid is very appropriate as it allows landscape and portrait images to sit together in harmony.
- The title text at the top doesn't stand out particularly but there is some cueing as it is bold compared to the rest of the text. This design choice may be consistent across all the pages meaning the eye knows to look for this section, however as a single spread the hierarchy to assist navigation could be improved.

- 8 field grid. - Text and subtitles are set in the same size type. Subtitles stand out because of empty line places above and beneath them. - Separation is using a whole line (not half or quarter) and consequently the lines of the first column of text align with those in the second. - Large title text contrasts with the size of letters in the text. - Image and text layout has interesting patterns as 1/8-page, 1/4-page, 1/2-page and 1 page images are used.
- The layout here is very text heavy, the type is very small, perhaps too small (but this depends on the size of the publication).
- Again the grid system is very obvious on the final design, it looks as though the text is to be read in columns due to the design choices and placement of imagery.
- Images are consistent in size along the page, which works well not to present too much disruption.
- The title in bold on the top left of the page the eye is naturally brought here when we look on pages (both physical and o screen), works well with the rest of the design.

- Built on 16 part grid. - Pictures and text in precise alignment. - Images arranged in rhythmic pattern. - Title and page text in 2 type sizes developing a clear hierarchy, this hierarchy is encouraged by the space left surrounding the title.
- Clear hierarchy on the page with title in bold on top left, again eye naturally looks here first, and this is consistent across the spreads, creates visual continuity within the publication.
- Body text starts at the same points on the pages, again creating visual continuity.
- The images are different sizes on the pages but they are placed in the same places so the format of the page is consistent.
