603 Study Task 3: Brief Sheet Workshop

Needing to have critical thought throughout briefs.

Looking into how to write a brief.

Work produced will be assessed against the brief that you write. Need to make sure it is accurate to what you're wanting to design.

Good to have a concise brief, able to be a document you can look back on to set yourself on the right path.

What is a good brief? Not just subject matter, what does it need to have so you can answer it.

Put rules and direction around an idea (for research led brief this isn't true), need rule to see if the brief is working or not.

> If picking a D&AD brief they tend to be broad, we can make our own take on the brief and re-write it into the brief sheet.

Altered brief sheet with info about each section.

Top Tips: What makes a good brief?

1. To the point.
2. Easy to understand for anyone, even those not well versed on the topic.
3. Shows a level of interest, written from a perspective of excitement.
4. Constructive not constrictive.
5. Well informed, all components feed into one another and are relevant.
