Notes & Mindmap:
The hand drawn typefaces work in some ways to communicate the sense of urgency and links to politics, however it's still too restrained.
- Thinking back to B6 (A Book A Day) and day 3 #PMQs. Here I conveyed a sense of urgency by hand writing out every piece of content:
This communicates the tone I was trying to emulate with the hand made typefaces, but having them be naturally drawn is much more effective.
Main thing I'm struggling with are the ideas, need to spend time thinking through and exhausting different themes and threads this could go down.
"WE WERE THERE... AND WE"RE HERE NOW" IDEA:
- Guardian Histroy: https://www.theguardian.com/news/2017/nov/16/a-mission-for-journalism-in-a-time-of-crisis
- South Afrcian Concepntraction Camps: https://www.theguardian.com/theguardian/from-the-archive-blog/2011/may/19/guardian190-south-africa-concentration-camps
- Spanish Civil War: https://www.theguardian.com/news/2016/jul/15/looking-back-the-spanish-civil-war

Do we need to use the guardian typeface?
The hand drawn type does achieve what I want it to, communicating a sense of human-ness.
Could try and have the type switch to the guardian typeface at the end? End with the typeface.
Think this idea has weight to it, it draws on the qualities the Guardian has at it's core.
- Needs refining visually and can think about different platforms this would work on.

Spend time tomorrow on other initial ideas, choose best/most appropriate and go with this for rest of the week.
